This week the titans of the tech world were summoned to Washington DC (my invitation must have gotten lost in the mail). From what I can see people are now starting to pay closer attention to the supply chain and the questionnaires will begin to fly. If Apple has 9000 vendors imagine how many vendors will be getting the questionnaires from Microsoft, IBM, and Google alone.
The article states that many organizations have been using cyber insurance in place of good security but the insurance industry is changing and requiring minimum security standards. If your organization is the recipient of one of these questionnaires or is renewing your cyber security insurance policy without a security program, you may be denied coverage or lose sales.
