What is the difference between compliance and security? The difference is slight but important. Engineers are usually great with the technology that run a company. The engineer got into the profession because they loved the technology and it’s capabilities. To read a manual is to admit defeat!

What happens when regulations are passed by government entities that are vague and seem irrelevant to the engineer? They mostly go ignored, not because they don’t want to comply but because they are needed in so many other places to keep the business running that compliance never makes it to the top of the list. As auditors, we have seen this play out more times than I’d like to count.
